Labels for Sunlight/UV Exposure

Standard asset labels don’t surive extended outdoor exposure.  For assets exposed to outdoor conditions, Camcode recommends Metalphoto® photosensitive anodized aluminum.

The Standard for Outdoor Asset Tracking

Metalphoto asset tags are proven to remain scannable after 20+ years of usage in critical asset tracking applications such as aircraft landing gear, the International Space Station, night vision googles, naval ship placards, off-shore oil rig control panels, utility pole tags, and many others.

Metalphoto’s sunlight & weather degradation resistance comes from its inorganic (not printed) silver-halide image, which is sealed inside of the anodized aluminum layer.

The Hidden Cost of Inferior Labels

The cost of scan failure due to barcode degradation pales in comparison to the relatively low cost of an asset tag. When tags fade or detach, replacement can cost (both tag and installation labor) will far exceed the initial tag cost. Further, missing or un-readable tags can delay asset-critical maintenance.

Don’t be penny-wise, but dollar foolish. Install the asset tag with a proven technology and track record to last – Metalphoto asset tags are certified to remain scannable and legible during the operating lifespan of your asset.

Dealing with More Than Outdoor Weather?

Camcode has asset tracking options engineered for all extreme operating conditions:

“We needed the ‘Swiss Army Knife’ of tags.”

“It was necessary to have an asset tag that could withstand the outdoor elements, yet was simple enough to meet basic tracking needs. We achieved both with Camcode’s asset tags.”

Scott L.

“Camcode manufactured the labels with the exact information we wanted.”

“We knew they were durable, would not fade, and would still be readable if paint got on them.”
